A Dream Coming True...

Hey Friends!

Just wanted to share a quick update with you all :)
Phillip and I with our Coke bottle
Last night was one of the coolest nights ever at the IV.  As many of you know the International Village has been a dream of mine since 2006 and slowly slowly (pole pole dio mwendo) we have developed it with the help of people all over the globe.  Yesterday, things took another big step forward.

Our Earth (Mud) Oven is finally done
Our Chef Fred cutting our first loaf of bread
As you are aware a group of 7 people from an organization called YWAM (Youth with a Mission) are staying here for 12 days.  In addition to them, we had a group of 3 people from the US join us for dinner last night.  In addition to them, we had a Danish family (who found us on AirBnb) check in last night for their three day stay.  So, we had four different groups (one being our family) at the IV last night, enjoying each other's company, sharing stories, and dreaming about the future.  As we sat in the banda our chef under the direction of my mom, was making pizzas, bread sticks, bread, and cinnamon rolls in our newly finished earth (mud) oven.  It was one of those moments where I just sat back, remembered to when I first drew a picture of a place that would be located in our rural slum and host guests from around the world to volunteer here.  After drawing that picture on one of my student's graph paper I scanned it and sent it to a friend and the rest is now history.

Thanks for your support, many of you have and continually support this crazy dream of ours!
Our calf, Beauty, stopping by to say "Hi"while I was resting.
Dream Big...and go after it!
