Opportunity is knock, knock, knocking...

What does "the trip of a lifetime" cost?

The other day we visited a business that happens to sell trips.  This is not just any travel agency, but a worldwide corporation that is a strong competitor in the travel market.  Naturally, we were drawn to the information on Africa and specifically Kenya...

Brochure/Magazine Cover
The first person to find the magazine was my mom; of the four of us, she is the only one that has never been to Kenya.  She excitedly looked through the pictures and kept asking, what does my room look like?

The animal photography was beautiful.
There is nothing quite like a safari!

After a few minutes, awestruck, we all noticed the prices on the trips...

Notice the four little words in the top right corner:
LAND ONLY PER PERSON
That means, this does NOT include airfare.
OK, so let's take my ticket price from last summer $1800 and add it to the lowest single cost above $6599 for a total of $8400 for 9 days.  Now, believe it or not, that is not the highest price trip in the book and from all of the trips I have seen at travel agents, that's a pretty typical price.  9 days - $8400, roughly $900/day and...

It's TOTALLY worth it!

That's right...totally worth it.  It's an experience that will teach you to appreciate many things in life that you are likely not appreciating...

But, the thing is, this trip totally focuses on safari and not on Kenya's greatest resource...the Kenyan people.

Come and stay with me at the International Village for 17 days and your ground cost will be $2000 ($4599 cheaper than the trip above for almost twice as long).  It is the trip of a lifetime, ask any of the over 100 people that have gone...

$500 deposit secures your travel dates, booking one trip for Spring 2015 and another for Summer 2015 now!
