As the clock struck 11pm last night the ball dropped, my family cheered "Happy New Year" and we all blew into our horns - I was reminisce about the NYE I spent in Times Square. Years ago, a group of us got on a train for 24 hours, spent 48 hours visiting NYC's sites, spending NYE in Times Square and even being on TV (The Today Show) before spending another 24 hours on the train to head home. I love New Year's, a time to look back and a time to look forward. This year I have many plans and this is one of them.
I have grown a lot in 2012 and I attribute much of my professional growth to the opportunity I was given to serve as principal at Edgerton Middle School. In this new position, I learn every single day from the students, the world class staff, my fellow district administrators, and administrators all over the globe that I connect with on Twitter. Many of the people I follow on Twitter blog and swear by it - I have tried a few times in the past to blog, I have blogged about my travel experiences, projects both big and small, and about life events, but I have never blogged about teaching. So, at the urging of many people on Twitter and with the hope of better communicating with those around me in Edgerton I am blogging again.
Thanks for being on this journey with me, I appreciate you.
